Chuck Grassley after winning the Republican Primary last week over Jim Carlin went after Democratic opponent Michael Franken for his record of praising Joe Biden and his policies. With the Consumer Price Index (CPI) being at 8.6% which is the highest in 41-years Grassley believes that its been both the Democratic Congress and the Biden administrations lack of financial restraint that has led to current inflation totals.

“The chances of getting less spending out of this Democrat Congress and President are pretty ill. But you can thank 50 Republicans and one Democrat, Manchin of West Virginia, that we didn’t spend another $4.5 trillion on Build Back Better that would’ve made inflation even worse. But the Democrats did end up making things worse by spending $2 trillion two months after they were sworn into Congress.”
