Kids of Washington County have an opportunity to attend theater camp next week.
The Wellman Parkside YMCA will be hosting the camp June 27-July 1 from 9:30 a.m-1:30 p.m.
The camp gives students an opportunity to work with professional actors while they rehearse and present a play all in one week.
Marketing and Fundraising Director of the Washington County YMCA Angie Goodwin tells about this new opportunity, “The Young Footliters Traveling Playhouse is a new touring program for the youth theater out of Coralville Center for Performing Arts. Together they bring master teaching artists down and they create theater experience for students across Iowa. They do this all in one week, their camps are a week long where they do rehearsals and then a final performance at the end.”
The Secret of the Sphinx will be performed July 1 at 6:30 p.m. in the Mid-Prairie Cafetorium at Mid-Prairie High School. To register a child age 7 up to 18 call the Wellman Parkside YMCA at 319-646-8439.
