The Washington County Conservation Center is looking to update its current displays. The displays have been in place since 2018.

The displays are educational while still being engaging allowing visitors to touch and feel and interact with.

One of the features that is specifically being assessed is the live turtle display.

Director of Washington County Conservation Zach Rozmus describes the current display along with plans, “A lot of the turtles that we have in house are native species that we use in our environmental and education programs too. So we’re trying to get some wall displays created that kind of portray that, give some educational material kind of give them tidbits about the turtles that specifically are inside the tank. And then give that next phase of those displays because ultimately anytime you’re dealing with any type of display there is always a shelf life and you always have to be thinking about how we continue to update these over time.”

The Washington County Conservation Center is located at Marr Park.
