The City of Kalona is working through a subdivision application that will go in front of Kalona City Council for an eight acreage lot subdivision in the Northridge section of the Southtown area.

Kalona City administrator Ryan Schlabaugh gives an update, “Most of the work is done. It was in an area that was ready to go. It made it through our Planning & Zoning Commission and the recommendation to go to Council here probably this week with I believe a first meeting on the 29th and then we’ll hold a Public Hearing on some additional rezoning areas out there for Phase 3 of the Northridge subdivsion.”

Size of the lots will be 2 ½ acres allowing for a single family dwelling and the ability to have an addition of a substantial out building.
