The Washington Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the City of Washington and the Hotel Motel Advisory Committee, is participating in the #IowansUnite Community Contest. The three groups have submitted a video to the contest site, and it needs to reach over 500 votes for Washington to be considered for the next part of the contest.

If the necessary number of votes are received, Washington will receive an assignment to demonstrate their community spirit on July 6th and will have five business days to complete it. Afterward, an independent panel of judges will review and score all the assignments and videos. The community with the highest score will win a custom mural designed and installed by Iowa-based artist Ben Schuh that welcomes visitors to the community’s shopping district or downtown area.

Schuh has previously designed murals for Iowa cities, including Des Moines, Wadsworth, Beaverdale, and Knoxville. A link for the video and voting will be provided in the article at KCIIradio.com.
