It was round number two between Highland and Columbus Community on the softball diamond Tuesday with the home Huskies enjoying senior night by rolling to an 11-1 win. 

The Huskies scored multiple times in the first, third, fourth, and fifth frames to make it a short night in five innings and capture the season sweep of the Wildcats. Highland registered 12 hits with Grace Batcheller going 3-for-3 with one RBI and Jessica Kraus was 2-for-3 with two RBI. Batcheller got the win in the circle tossing all five innings surrendering no earned runs on four hits and striking out eight. Lily Coil led the blue and white going 2-for-3 and Victoria Howell brought in the only tally. Libby White threw three innings giving up four earned runs and six knocks. Highland improved to 18-8 overall and 12-3 in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference. Columbus is 12-12 and 8-8 in the league. 

The Huskie baseball team dipped out of conference to face BGM (7-13) last night and an enormous fifth inning led to a 15-5 victory. The red and white trailed 5-3 in that inning when they exploded for 12 runs to not only take the lead, but end the game early. The offense had 13 hits with Connor Grinstead going 3-for-4 with one RBI. Chase Schultz and Trevor McFarland each had a pair of knocks and three RBI including a home run from McFarland. Peyton Yeggy was the winning pitcher in 3 1/3 innings of work giving up two runs on six hits. The team improves to 19-3 on the campaign.
