During the 2022 baseball season, Hillcrest Academy’s Liam Schrock found himself on base, a lot. The Raven freshman drew 30 walks in 23 games during the recently completed season. That total placed him fifth in Class 1A, tied with Jaylen Drape of Kee, Lansing. Top 1A total belongs to the Kee Hawks Damon Weber with 38. The 23 games played was the fewest among any player that finished in the top five. Schrock’s top game in the free pass category was four, which happened twice, in two contests against Pekin, each coming in June. He finished the year with a team leading .522 on base percentage. Hillcrest ended the season with a 12-11 overall record.
