After many delays caused by COVID and supply chain issues, a bid was awarded for the Woodlawn Cemetery repair project at the July 5th City Council Meeting. The bid was awarded to Miller Masonry in Riverside, who was the recommended project partner.
Washington Mayor Jaron Rosien says that this project has been in the works for quite some time and has required a lot of patience. “This was an awarded bid for the masonry and gate work at the historic Woodlawn Cemetery. It’s been long awaited, and we look forward to getting it completed; and we would like to thank the State of Iowa for their extensions on this project.”
The next City Council meeting will be Tuesday, July 19th at 7 pm in the Council Chambers at City Hall. For those that wish to attend this meeting virtually, contact the City Clerks office for the virtual attendance link.
