With their victory Tuesday night over No. 6 West Marshall, the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk baseball team secured a berth to next week’s Class 2A state tournament in Carroll. The Mid-Prairie activities department is looking for student interest regarding a pep bus for the game. The tentative plan would be for the bus to leave Mid-Prairie High School in Wellman by 9a.m. Tuesday. District staff would chaperone the group and those making the trip would need to bring their own money for food for the day. There is no monetary charge for the ride, Mid-Prairie administration is asking those who would like to be a part of the pep bus bring at least three items to donate to local food pantries. The district needs at least 20 kids to sign up to participate before they will commit to sending transportation. The electronic sign up for the pep bus is available on the Mid-Prairie district and baseball program’s Facebook pages. Deadline to sign up is noon Monday.

The Golden Hawks will be at Merchants Field in Carroll for the state quarterfinals Tuesday against No. 3 Cascade. You can hear all of the action live on all KCII platforms and signals, beginning with the Washington HyVee Pregame Show at 1p.m. and first pitch at 1:30.
