The Washington Police Department responded Wednesday afternoon to a report that a man was turning himself in at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. Fifty-six-year-old Willan Orlando Garavito-Santos was arrested on a Washington County warrant for assault while displaying a dangerous weapon and willful injury causing bodily injury, a Class D felony.

Willful injury is defined as any person who does an act that is not justified and which is intended to cause serious injury to another. Depending on the severity of the injuries, the charge can either be a Class C or D felony.

Garavito-Santos was booked at the Washington County Jail and was issued a $7,000 cash-only bond posted at 2 pm Thursday. KCII will bring you more information as it becomes official.
