The pitching arm of Highland’s Chase Schultz was relied on a lot this year and it didn’t disappoint with the senior producing one of the best season’s on the hill in the area.

No one in class 1A has logged more innings on the mound than Schultz’s 63. His 10-2 record is the second most wins in the state and he recorded a 1.78 ERA while striking out 89 batters. The senior only gave up 53 hits, 16 earned runs, and 14 walks all year. He was an anchor of a pitching staff that had a 2.30 team ERA also headlined by Logan Bonebrake’s 1.26, Ethan Paisley’s 2.32, and Payton Yeggy’s 3.00. Offensively, four batters all hit above .400 including Schultz with a .405 BA. Trevor McFarland finished with .475, Tyler Thompson .438, and Connor Grinstead .427.

The Huskies finished the summer 22-4, the program’s most wins since 2016.
