It was a win, rinse, and repeat type season once again for the Sigourney softball team and a big part of their success in 2022 came from the work in the circle.

Third year starting pitcher Carly Goodwin put up gaudy numbers and was near the top of numerous statistical categories in class 1A. The sophomore posted the second best ERA in the state with a minuscule 0.55 in 127 innings. Her 260 strikeouts ranked second and the same goes for her .110 opponent batting average. She surrendered just 52 hits and 10 earned runs while finishing with a 16-4 record in 20 starts. Goodwin also produced at the plate with a .430 average and 22 RBI.

Sigourney concluded the summer 23-6 and captured their second straight South Iowa Cedar League title with a 14-1 conference mark.
