Construction of asphalt shoulders is underway on Wayland Road (W55) between the Washington/Henry county line and 320th Street (G62).

The project is being completed by Norris Asphalt paving Co., LLC of Ottumwa, who was awarded the contract for $567,000 in February. A $250,000 Transportation Safety Improvement Program grant from the Iowa Department of Transportation is helping pay for a portion of this project.

It is anticipated work will be completed in approximately one week, depending on the weather. During the duration of the project, the road will be open to through traffic. Flaggers and pilot cars are being utilized to control the flow of traffic.
