A total of seven Lone Tree baseball players were selected to all conference teams by the Southeast Iowa Super Conference for their work on the diamond in 2022.
Cade Shield was the headliner for the Lions being named to the first team as a pitcher. The senior finished with a 2.77 ERA in 30 innings on the mound striking out 25 batters. He was also the team’s top hitter with a .338 average, .405 OBP, 12 RBI, and scored 18 times. Four players were named to the second team in Gavin Pourroy, Adam Knock, Tyler Bell, and Mathew Hemsted. Pourroy provided depth in the pitching rotation with a 2.88 ERA in 24 innings and he brought in seven runs offensively. Knock stole six bags, went 6-for-17 in limited at-bats, and pitched 16 innings with a 5.88 earned run average. Bell had a .395 on base percentage, brought in 16 tallies, scored 10 times, and hit one home run. Hemsted batted .319, recorded 16 RBI, and had five extra base hits. Two players were recognized as honorable mention selections in Cade Patterson and Will Kleckner. Patterson pitched 23 innings with a 6.30 ERA and had a .347 OBP with 14 runs scored. Kleckner got on base 45% of the time and a .305 BA with 10 RBI.
Lone Tree concluded the summer 7-14 overall and fifth in the north with a 6-8 league mark.
