The Highland School Board filled their most recent vacancy in a special meeting held on July 19th. Dan Ruth was appointed by the board as the new member to represent District Four. Ruth replaces Samantha Holden on the board. Holden resigned her position at a meeting in late June, citing a move outside of the district. She was elected in 2019. Ruth’s term ends in November of 2023.
Ruth’s appointment to the board is the third for the Highland district since May. Josh Thomann was appointed to the District Six seat after the resignation of Kathy Butler and the District Five seat was filled by Melissa Murphy following the resignation of Megan Allen.
