Both summer teams from Highland fared well in the postseason award department with 10 from each team receiving Southeast Iowa Super Conference all conference recognition and today we highlight the Huskie baseball squad. 

Chase Schultz had a memorable senior campaign that led to the highest distinction of player of the year in the north division. No one had more bombs than his five home runs on the season, he collected the fourth most RBI in the league with 25, and supported a .405 average. The senior ace delivered a 1.78 ERA on the mound and had a 10-2 record in 63 innings. Fiver other Huskies were named to the first team including Trevor McFarland, Ethan Paisley, Luke Miller, Connor Grinstead, and Logan Bonebrake. McFarland registered the most hits in the north with 38, was second in average with .475, and second in RBI with 29. Paisley recorded a 2.32 ERA in 45 innings on the bump, got on base 37% of the time, and knocked in 14 runs. Miller managed a .500 OBP, brought in 18 runs, and scored 31 times. Grinstead pitched 16 innings with a 3.00 ERA, stole 22 bags, and had a .427 BA. Bonebrake collected a .407 OBP, had 16 RBI, and came around to score 21 times. 

Brenton Bonebrake and Kaige Vonnahme were named to the second team. Brenton was successful on 23 of 25 stolen base attempts and had a .364 average while Vonnahme brought in 20 tallies and had a .381 on base percentage. Honorable mention selections included Peyton Yeggy and Carson Netser. Yeggy provided pitching depth with a 2.71 ERA in 21 innings and Netser scored 10 times to go along with five stolen bases. 

Highland finished 22-4 overall and second in the north division with a 12-2 conference mark.
