You know you are doing something right when you have more all conference selections than positions on the field and that was the case for both Highland summer teams. Today we highlight the 10 Highland softball players that recently received all conference distinction from the Southeast Iowa Super Conference.

The Huskies tied for the most first team members with five including pitcher Grace Batcheller, utility Jessica Kraus, infielders Sarah Burton and Payton Brun, and outfielder MyLei Smith. Batcheller had the third best ERA in the north division with a 2.53 in 97 innings and recorded a 12-5 record. The senior produced at the plate with a .362 average and 17 RBI. Kraus was the other reliable option in the circle with a 9-4 record and finishing with a 2.85 ERA in 91 innings and striking out 89 batters. The junior had a .387 on base percentage and brought in 17 runs. Burton was a nightmare for the opposition on the base paths being successful on 37 of 38 stolen base attempts that was second in the league. She led the team with a .465 BA and came around to score 47 times. Brun managed a .491 on base percentage, led the team with 25 RBI, and scored 31 times. Smith was a reliable glove, had a .303 OBP, and registered 21 runs.

Three players were named to the second team in Mackinze Hora, Katelyn Waters, and Lilly Barre. Hora brought home 11 runs and had a .324 on base percentage, Waters scored 16 times and brought home seven more, and Barre had a .333 average as a freshman with 11 RBI. Two honorable mention selections included Madison Beeson and Grace Prybil. Beeson got on base 35% of the time and had eight RBI while Prybil scored 10 times with a .341 OBP.

Highland finished the campaign 21-9 overall and second in the north with a 13-3 league mark.
