A resurgent season for the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk softball program has led to increased postseason awards. The River Valley Conference recently released their 2022 all-conference teams and six Mid-Prairie players were recognized.
Golden Hawk shortstop, freshman Dakota Mitchell was an Elite RVC pick on the infield. She hit .438 for the Hawks this year with 39 total hits, a team high 22 runs scored and six driven in.
Junior Madeline Schrader was an All-South Division pick in the outfield. She posted a .451 average on the year, with a team leading .500 OBP. Schrader finished the year with 37 hits, 18 runs scored and 17 RBI. She also played an errorless centerfield on defense and led the team with 10 stolen bases on 10 attempts.
Sophomore Gabi Robertson was an All-RVC South selection in the outfield as well. She hit a team best .453 and led the way with 43 total hits and 22 runs scored. She also drove in nine and played an errorless left field.
Freshman Sydney Knebel was an All River Valley South selection in the circle for the Hawks. She did the majority of Mid-Prairie’s work there with 20 appearances across 122 innings, surrendering 153 hits, 75 runs, 60 of those earned, walking 21, while striking out 85 with a 3.44 ERA and did not commit an error while fielding her position. At the plate, Knebel hit .356 with 32 total hits, a team best 25 runs driven in and nine runs scored.
Eighth grader Sophie Miller made an immediate impact for the Golden Hawks and in the conference, being named All River Valley South this summer. She hit .313 this year with 26 hits, 17 RBI and 14 runs scored.
Senior Brittany Kinsinger was an honorable mention RVC pick. She finished .281 at the plate with 25 hits, 13 runs scored and nine driven in.
The Golden Hawks ended the season with a 16-13 overall record.
