The Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association released more postseason awards this week with several area players being named all district for the 2022 summer in class 1A and 3A. .
Eight area athletes were named first team all Southeast District in class 1A headlined by four Sigourney players in first baseman Bo Schmidt, second baseman Levi Crawford, outfielder Cade Molyneux, and utility Cade Streigle. Highland’s Chase Schultz made it on as a pitcher, Connor Grinstead was chosen as an outfielder, and Trevor McFarland as a utility player. Keota’s Colten Clarahan rounded out his high school career with a first team selection as a utility player. Second team honorees from the area included Keota’s Aidan Anderson and Caden Clarahan, Highland’s Ethan Paisley and Luke Miller, and Sigourney’s Garisin Hynick.
Washington had three members claim a second team spot in the Southeast District for class 3A with catcher Ethan Zieglowsky, first baseman Kole Williams, and second baseman Ethan Patterson making the cut.
