It was a tough assignment to dig into the batter’s box in 2022 against the Keota Eagle pitching staff. The boys in purple and gold finished in the top 10 in Class 1A in four different pitching categories.

Keota led the entire state regardless of Class, giving up just 104 total hits to opponents on the season.

The Eagles had the second lowest opponent batting average against. Hitters finished with a paltry .146 average against Keota. Colton Clarahan’s .120 allowed was fourth in 1A for those with at least 50 innings of work, Aidan Anderson’s .136 was eighth in 1A for those in the same category.

The Eagles also ranked sixth in 1A in team ERA and seventh in total runs allowed at 1.97 and 85 respectively. Anderson’s 0.53 ERA was second best in 1A for those with at least 50 innings thrown. All members of the Keota staff, Tanner Waterhouse, Caden Clarahan, Cole Kindred, Anderson, Aiden McGuire and Colten Clarahan finished with ERAs of three or better.

The Eagles finished the season with a 17-6 overall record.
