The City of Riverside received their 2021 Water Quality Report.

The report contains information regarding the water quality of the Riverside water system. The source of water for the city is groundwater.

Testing was conducted in 2021 for compliance levels. .

The Maximum Content Level (MCL) is the highest level of a contaminant that is allowed in drinking water. The Maximum Contaminant Level Goal (MCLG) is the level of a contaminant in drinking water below which there is no known or expected risk to health. MCLGs allow for a margin of safety. Maximum Residual Disinfectant Level (MRDL) is the highest level of a disinfectant allowed in drinking water. Maximum Disinfectant Level Goal (MRDLG) is the level of a drinking water disinfectant below which there is no known or expected risk to health.

Total Trihalomethanes, by-products of drinking water chlorination, were 80 MCL. Total Haloacetic Acids, by-products of drinking water disinfection, were 60 MCL. Chlorine, a water additive to control microbes measured at 4 MRDL.

All levels are indicated to be at acceptable levels.
