Hospice of Washington County hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for their new building at 948 E 11th St. in Washington on Tuesday. The Ribbon Cutting ceremony was attended by multiple Washington City officials, including Mayor Jaron Rosien as well as U.S. Representative Marinette Miller-Meeks. The building features numerous conference rooms that can be made private and other upgraded amenities like a full-sized kitchen and a spacious storage area.

Katrina Altenhofen, the Executive Director for Hospice of Washington County, talked with KCII about how this building was put together as a group effort by everyone that works there. “Every one of our staff members has contributed with their thoughts. I didn’t want a new building that wasn’t functional and wasn’t what they wanted, so we all worked together with the contractors to get exactly what we wanted.”

Altenhofen and other hospice staff encouraged everyone interested to come in and take a look at the facility. The new hospice building will be able to host group meetings and offers many private areas for families during the hospice process.
