The 2nd Annual Travis Greiner Memorial Tractor Ride is scheduled for Saturday, August 27, at 7:45 a.m. in Keota. Participants are encouraged to line up that morning at 6:30 a.m., behind Greiner Crop Service in downtown Keota.

Travis Greiner passed away in an accident in June of 2020 at the age of 28. One of the Organizers of the tractor ride, Mark Sheets shares his memories of Greiner, “Travis was a young farmer south of Keota, he was a mechanic, just a natural born mechanic. Loved farming, loved his friends, loved his family, he was just an all around good kid.”

Sheets goes on to explain the spirit of the memorial tractor ride, “Just a whole bunch of his friends, co-workers, uncles got together a year ago and decided we should do something like this to honor him because he was all about farming and getting together with friends and stuff and family.” 

Proceeds of this year’s event will go to Washington County and Keokuk County 4-H clubs and Keota FFA.
