On Tuesday, a boil advisory was issued in Washington for South 3rd Ave, stretching from Tyler St to Harrison St near the Washington County Hospitals and Clinics building. The advisory was lifted at 8:40 am Thursday with the results coming back from the Coralville testing facility.

JJ Bell, the Superintendent of the Maintenance and Construction Department for Washington, spoke with KCII and said that those that may have consumed un-boiled water during the boil advisory need not worry. “We got out before we turned the water back on and put door hangers out. If people are still concerned, they could flush their water by letting it run for a few minutes. But if the results come back good, there is nothing to worry about.”

The boil advisory was given due to concerns about PSI levels after repairs to a water main break, with an article about the cause of the boil advisory being available on KCIIradio.com. A public hearing about the upcoming 2022 Water Main project has been set for the August 16th City Council meeting, with bids expected to be received in September.
