The Washington Police Department arrested twenty-two-year-old Benjamin Guy Scott of Washington, who turned himself in yesterday to the Washington County Jail. Scott was wanted on a Washington County Warrant for distribution of drugs to a person under 18, sexual abuse 3rd degree, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to police reports, the original incident happened at 1027 North 6th Ave in Washington in December 2021. A female juvenile had gone to Scott’s residence, where he served her a Kool-Aid and Vodka mixed drink and provided her with marijuana. The mixture of alcohol and marijuana made the female juvenile feel lethargic and sick. Scott proceeded to have sex with the minor against her will.

Scott submitted to a DNA court order, and the results of DNA testing indicated his DNA was consistent with the DNA found on the juvenile’s clothing. A search warrant was conducted at Scott’s residence, where multiple drug paraphernalia items were found. The Juvenile was shown photographs of the paraphernalia, and she positively identified a specific “bong” that had been located in Benjamin Scott’s room as the “bong” that he provided to her, and she smoked from before the assault.

Scott is being held at the Washington County Jail on a $35,000 cash or surety bond, and his initial hearing has been set for August 19th at the Washington County Courthouse. KCII will bring you more information as it becomes official.
