The Washington County Attorney’s Office formally indicted twenty-three-year-old Benjamin Scott of Washington for distribution of a controlled substance to a minor within 1,000 feet of a school, a Class B Felony, punishable by up to 25 years in prison with a mandatory 10-year sentence, 3rd-degree sexual abuse, a Class C Felony, punishable by up to 10 years in prison, and possession of a controlled substance, a serious misdemeanor.

Scott turned himself in on August 12th to the Washington County Jail. According to police reports, the original incident happened at 1027 North 6th Ave in Washington in December 2021. A female juvenile had gone to Scott’s residence, where he served her a Kool-Aid and Vodka mixed drink and provided her with marijuana. The mixture of alcohol and marijuana made the female juvenile feel lethargic and sick. Scott proceeded to have sex with the minor against her will.

The initial hearing for Scott has been set for August 19th at 11:00 am on the second floor of the Washington County Courthouse. KCII will bring you more information as it becomes official.
