Olivia Kahler and Trevor Sherping of the Kalona Public Library, gave a presentation to the Kalona City Council at the recent meeting on August 15th.  The two shared the programs that took place, the successes and the things that they will look forward to working on next year.
City Administrator for the City of Kalona Ryan Schlabaugh adds, “It was just a  good chance for the Council to interact with our administrative side of the library, and kind of get a feel for how those programs are going and the interaction that they have with the community and just the benefits that they bring. So, it’s a great little program and they do a wonderful job and we’ll look forward to helping to continue to support those for the years to come.”
In addition to the reading portion of the summer reading program, kids also had experiences with butterfly experiments, drum sets, and water activities.
