The Washington City Council met in a special session on Tuesday for a discussion and consideration of a resolution approving the final plat for the Wiley Subdivision. The initial plat was approved at the previous City Council meeting, with representatives from the contractors wanting to amend the agenda to also approve a final plat due to time constraints.

Mayor Rosien talked with KCII about why the immediate approval of a final plat was not made. “They wanted a final plat immediately, but final plats have to go through planning and zoning, which is a public board that needs public notice and a meeting. So, this is all about following protocol and procedure.”

The next Washington City Council meeting is on Tuesday, September 6th, in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
