On August 20th, at approximately 8 p.m., the Henry County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on the 2200 grid of Dakota Avenue in Mount Pleasant for a traffic violation.
It was determined that occupants of the vehicle, driver 34-year-old, Jesse A. Rutherford and passenger, 32-year-old Dustin E. West , both have a current driver status of suspended. Furthermore, Rutherford held two active warrants through the State of Iowa.
After further investigation, a search was conducted on the vehicle where items found included; amounts of Methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Rutherford was arrested for Possession of Controlled Substance, 3rd or Subsequent Offense, a Class D Felony, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia a Simple Misdemeanor and Driving While License Suspended a Simple Misdemeanor. West was arrested for Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd or Subsequent Offense, a Class D Felony, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia a Simple Misdemeanor.
Rutherford and West are currently in Custody at the Henry County Jail.
