Due to their involvement in a drug distribution plot, five individuals from Burlington, Iowa, were given lengthy jail sentences.

The five men were: 37-year-old, Rudolph Sinclair Allen who was sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment; 51-year-old Clyde Macks Stewart, Jr.who was sentenced to 17 years of imprisonment; 42-year-old Demetrius Antre Goudy, who was sentenced to 18 years of imprisonment; 36-year-old Gregory Jermaine Johnson, was sentenced to approximately 14 years (169 months) of imprisonment; And 42-year-old Brian Keith Davis, Jr., age 42, was sentenced to 10 1/2 years of imprisonment. Each was also given a term of five-years supervised release once their prison terms were served.

The conspiracy had been reported to have happened by at least December 1st, 2019 and continued until November 2nd, 2021. The announcement was made by the U.S. Attorney Richard D. Westphal of the Southern District of Iowa. The matter was looked into by the Southeast Iowa Narcotics Task Force.

Per court documents, Gregory Johnson, Allen, and Marcus Johnson, of Burlington, received large amounts of ice methamphetamine in Burlington from 35-year-old Kendric Centrall Childs of Burlington, who served as the main drug supplier, in addition to another individual. The three then either sold ice methamphetamine or provided it to lower-level dealers like Goudy, Stewart, and Davis for distribution. The documents also show that 54-year-old Julie Mason, of Burlington, was one of the group’s drug couriers.

Mason was apprehended in Arizona on January 24, 2020, while transporting approximately 362 pounds of ice methamphetamine. She admitted that the ice methamphetamine was on its way to Burlington. At the time, this traffic stop represented the Arizona Department of Public Safety’s largest single seizure of ice methamphetamine.

Mason, Childs, and Marcus Johnson have all pleaded guilty to drug conspiracy charges and will be sentenced at a later date. Mason was previously convicted of Possession of Drugs for Sale and Transportation of Drugs for Sale after a jury trial in Arizona and sentenced to 12 years in the Arizona Department of Corrections.
