Senator Charles Grassley, seeking his eighth term in the U.S. Senate, has agreed with former Navy Admiral Michael Franken for a pair of debates. The first debate will occur on October 4th on KCCI and broadcast statewide on affiliate stations. The next debate will be on October 6th as part of the Iowa Press program on PBS and will be live streamed on Iowa PBS’s YouTube and Facebook page.
Franken, when he spoke to KCII earlier, said that he wanted to press Grassley on his voting record under President Donald Trump and what policies he thought helped Americans during that time. Grassley recently spoke with KCII about what he plans to press the former Navy Admiral on during their debates.
“I want to talk about some of the things he’s said on the campaign trail, he’s said Biden’s doing a fabulous job and I believe, or current economy doesn’t reflect that. He’s said he’s wanted to make Iowa more progressive than California, when California is in a bad position with its crime and its educational system is not as good as Iowa’s. Iowans don’t want to be more like California. He’s also said building the border wall was idiotic and I’ve been down there, and I’ve seen how the wall if we completed it could prevent all this fentanyl from coming across the border.”
Election day will be November 8th contact the Washington County Auditor’s Office for polling place information.
