Roth Field will be rocking tonight in Wayland when the WACO football team hosts Springville for a non-district showdown. 

Last week, the Warriors proved they will be another formidable opponent in 2022 by opening the campaign with a 42-20 triumph over Southeast Warren in Martensdale. Isaac Oswald completed eight of nine passes for 189 yards and three touchdowns while Simeon Reichenbach reached the end zone four times. Drew Diers picked up 12.5 tackles for a defense that held the Warhawks to 58 passing yards while completing just five of 13 throws. This is game one for the Orioles and they are coming off of a 4-5 season. This will be a whole new group with Springville graduating their quarterback, top three rushers, top three receivers, and top three tacklers to graduation. 

WACO handled the Orioles 56-24 in last year’s week one clash. Tonight’s action gets underway at 7 p.m. in Wayland.
