The No. 14 ranked Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk volleyball team stormed to the championship match Saturday at the Central Lee Invitational. The Hawks rolled through pool play with a 3-0 record, then grabbed a win in the tourney semifinals. Mid-Prairie victims on the day included No. 4 West Burlington 21-16 and 21-15, Burlington 25-10 and 25-16, Keokuk 21-6 and 21-9 and Pekin 21-7 and 21-8. West Burlington got revenge in the championship match, sweeping the Hawks 28-26 and 25-20. Mid-Prairie was led on the day by Jovi Evans with 47 assists and 25 kills. Dakota Mitchell led the Golden Hawk defense with 63 digs. Mid-Prairie is now 5-1 on the year and host West Branch Tuesday to open River Valley Conference play.
