Washington County Public Health (WCPH) held several back-to-school clinics over the past couple of weeks. These included immunization and dental clinics provided by the I-Smile program, which looks to match families and children with quality dental providers. These clinics were recently discussed at the August 22nd Washington Board of Health meeting, and Administrator Emily Tokheim talked about the results of the clinic.

“We have been very busy with our back-to-school clinics, with our immunization clinics busy all month. We also hosted two dental and vision screening clinics that saw some very good attendance, and we got a couple of success stories out of those with kids that didn’t even know they had issues being able to get looked at.”

WCPH will begin working with school nurses for audits that must be completed by the end of October. There is one- more immunization clinic in August set for tomorrow from 10:00 am-4:00 pm on the third floor of the Federation Bank Building in Washington.
