The Highland football team had a tough start to 2022, falling on the road at No. 1 East Buchanan 54-0 Friday. The Buccaneers opened the scoring with 24 points in the first quarter and enacted a running clock in the second frame en route to a 40-0 lead at the break. East Buchanan would outscore Highland 14-0 in the second half. The Buccaneers rolled up 395 yards of total offense, 307 of that on the ground. Led by 11 carries for 138 yards and two scores for Chase Fults and three touchdowns for Ryland Cornell. Highland is now 0-1 and opens the home portion of their schedule Friday against Columbus on Senior Night in Riverside.
