It was an uptick in competition Saturday for the No. 15 Winfield-Mt. Union volleyball team when they traveled to West Branch for a tournament and went 2-4 on a busy day. 

In the seven team round-robin tournament the Wolves defeated Prince of Peace (17-21, 21-17, 15-3) and Iowa City Regina (21-14, 21-19), but fell to Wapello (21-13, 14-21, 10-15), West Branch (17-21, 19-21), Don Bosco (19-21, 21-11, 6-15), and Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont (8-21, 8-21). Melina Oepping led the offense with 22 total kills while Bradie Buffington and Audrie Gipple had 15 each. Keely Malone collected 59 assists, Tessa Huston was successful on 33 of 34 serves with five aces, Oepping managed six blocks, and Keetyn Townsley registered 67 digs. 

WMU moves to 3-4 on the season and they are back at it Saturday at English Valleys for a tournament.
