The WACO Warrior volleyball team made a road trip to Hillcrest Union to battle the Ravens Thursday a business trip, taking a three set Southeast Iowa Superconference sweep. The Warriors won the match by scores of 25-14, 25-19 and 25-17. Top Warriors in the match included Grace Coble with 19 assists, Ellah Kissell with 11 digs and seven kills, Marie Farmer with seven kills and six aces, Jocelyn Fulton with five aces and Emma Wagler with a solo block. After the match Coble and Fulton talked about the keys to the sweep. “Tonight it was a struggle but, we came together and found a way to get through it with serves. Ellah Kissell came out and gave us two huge balls, and that’s starts with my passing and my libero Jo (Fulton), I’m really happy when all three parts come together and it went really smoothly at the end. Our team chemistry has gotten a lot better. I think we just enjoy being around each other on the court and I think it really changes the way we play. Coming together, finishing to the end and coming out with those huge serves at the end and going on the those runs put it away for us.”
With the win, the Warriors are now 4-0 on the year, and will host Lone Tree Tuesday. Hillcrest is 1-5 and travels to Pekin Tuesday.
