The Washington Public Library has announced a partnership with the streaming service Kanopy, which will be available to all Washington, Ainsworth, Brighton, and rural Washington County residents with a valid Washington Public Library Card. Kanopy partners with studios like A24, The Criterion Collection, PBS, and more to offer access to critically acclaimed documentaries and movies.

Washington Public Library Director Cary Ann Siegfried spoke to KCII about this new partnership. “We are so excited to partner with Kanopy. I believe they offer over 30,000 different films. While they don’t usually have the films that are right out of theaters, they usually have most of the academy award winners available.”

Kanopy offers apps on both the Android and Apple marketplace and has smart TV Apps for Roku, Apple TV, or Amazon Fire Stick. Users get five credits per month to use on any film they want, and all Kanopy Kids content is credit-free to stream.
