Saturday at Central College in Pella, the top ten ranked Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk cross country teams rolled to championships. The No. 2 ranked Golden Hawk girls won the team title with their score of 20 points, 46 ahead of second place Pella Christian. All seven runners finished in the top 14, led by individual champion Danielle Hostetler with her time of 19:12. Other finishers included Abby Fleming third, Phoebe Shetler fourth, Greta Sieren fifth, Annika Poll seventh, Ivy Reschly 10th and Dessa Poll 14th.
The No. 8 ranked Mid-Prairie boys were champions with a score of 34 points, beating second place Pella Christian with 49 points. The Hawks were led by individual runner-up Emmett Swartzendruber with a time of 17:25. Other finishes included Jayse Yoder fifth, Nathan Wallington eighth, Blake Creed ninth, Preston Yutzy 10th, Jordan Stock 16th and Daniel Rodgers 18th.
The Golden Hawks cross country teams will next be in action at Monticello Saturday.
