The Kalona Area Chamber of Commerce is celebrating a record year at the Iowa State Fair. The Chamber had a booth at the State Fair this past August 11th-21st, with the goal of promoting the community.
Director of Kalona Area Chamber of Commerce Tonia Poole shares her experience, “They went great! We’ve been doing this for a number of years so I think we’ve kind of got our groove down. We were ready and prepared for our record attendance. The fair itself had records of all kinds in attendance, and fundraising, expenses, just different things. There were all kinds of records and we felt that in the Kalona booth there at the fair.”
Poole reports that sales at the booth were up 20 % over last year and over 800 Kalona Yotty’s  Bars were sold.
