
The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk volleyball team scored a pair of wins against a tough tournament field at Mount Vernon Saturday. The No. 10 in Class 3A Hawk’s wins came over Ottumwa 21-16 and 21-8 and No. 3 in Class 4A Waverly-Shell Rock 21-18 and 21-17. Other results saw the Hawks drop matches to Des Moines Christian 21-11 and 21-17, Dyersville-Beckman 16-21, 21-16 and 15-9 and Center Point-Urbana 15-21, 21-18 and 15-7.
Statistically, the top Hawks were Dakota Mitchell with 48 digs, Jovi Evans with 33 assists and Landry Pacha with 29 kills. Mid-Prairie is now 8-4 and will travel to No. 3 in Class 3A West Liberty Thursday.
