The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk volleyball team continues their climb among the best in the state. After opening the season ranked No. 14 in Class 3A by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union, the Hawks have moved up four spots in the organization’s second group of rankings. Mid-Prairie stands at No. 10 this week with a record of 8-4 after recording a 2-3 weekend at the Mount Vernon tournament with victories over Ottumwa and No. 3 in Class 4A Waverly-Shell Rock, along with a River Valley Conference win in Wellman over West Branch, snapping a 14-year losing streak to the Bears. The Golden Hawks will travel to No. 3 in Class 3A West Liberty Thursday.
