United Presbyterian Home in Washington will be celebrating 75 years of business in Washington on Tuesday, September 13th. As part of the Alive After 5 celebration, the home will be hosting tours of their cottages from 4:00-5:00 pm before the ribbon-cutting ceremony, and the main event starts.
Amy Kleese, the Director of Relations for the United Presbyterian Home in Washington, spoke with KCII about what makes these cottages unique. “We’re a continuum care retirement community, and so those people that live out in the cottages are independent but still have a membership with the home. The cottages range from 800 sq ft to 1,700 sq ft, so they are not cookie cutter, and some have had renovations by the people that live there to make them more home-like.
The cottages available for the open houses from 4:00-5:00 pm will be 19, 36, 37, and 39 Cedar Drive and 40 Linden Lane. The Wellness Center at 31 Maple Lane will also be available for open house tours. After the open house tours are complete, there will be beverages, hors d’oeuvres, and live entertainment by Aces and Eights until 7:00 pm.
