Winfield is the site for an all-KCII area volleyball matchup Tuesday when the Hillcrest Academy Ravens are on the road to face the Winfield-Mt. Union Lady Wolves. Hillcrest comes into the match with an overall record of 1-11 and 0-3 in the Southeast Iowa Superconference. Last time out, the Ravens were swept by the Wapello Arrows Thursday. On the season, Hillcrest is led by sophomore Malia Yoder’s 48 digs, freshman Claire Withrow’s 43 assists and freshman Niva Helmuth’s 33 kills.

Winfield-Mt. Union is 12-5 this year, 2-0 in the Superconference. They won three of four matches over the weekend at the Wilton tournament, sweeping Burlington and Mount Pleasant, and taking down Mediapolis in three sets before falling to the home Beavers. On the year, the Lady Wolves are led by senior Keely Malone with 259 assists, senior Keetyn Townsley with 179 digs and senior Melina Oepping’s 102 kills. WMU has won 22 of the last 33 in the series against the Ravens including eight straight, with the last Hillcrest win coming in 2018. Action starts tonight at 6:30p.m. at Winfield-Mt. Union High School.
