The Washington County Sheriff’s Office received a notification from Johnson County that they had a subject in the jail that was wanted on a Washington County warrant. Thirty-year-old Scott Eugene Pitts of Liberty was wanted in Washington County on a felonious warrant for operating a vehicle while under the influence third or subsequent offense. Pitts was arrested in Johnson County in August after being pulled over for driving with a barred license. The officer noticed an open case of beer in the passenger seat, smelled a strong odor of alcohol, and observed bloodshot and watery eyes. Pitts was asked to provide a preliminary breath test which came back as .262, over three times the legal limit of .08.

A detainer has been placed with Johnson County, and Pitts has been issued a $5,000 cash-only bond. KCII will bring you more information as it becomes official.
