Homecoming couldn’t have come at a better time for the Lone Tree Lions football team. As they prepare to take on Tri-County tonight, Lone Tree has found its groove since a season-opening loss to Central City. In back-to-back wins, the Lions have scored a combined 90 points. Junior quarterback Ethan Bockelman is our JET Physical Therapy Football Athlete of the Week after he threw three touchdowns and ran for another two in last week’s 41-30 over HLV. Bockelman leads Lone Tree in both passing and rushing yards, with 12 total TDs under his belt through the first 3 games.

Freshman Emmett Burke has emerged as a big-play weapon by hauling in three touchdown catches. On defense, seniors Joe Boxwell and Caden Smith are the leading tacklers for a unit looking to improve on allowing almost 33 points per game. The Lions will need to contain Tri-County senior Eli Molyneux. The senior QB has been the team’s top player on both sides of the ball, as he leads the Trojans in passing, rushing, and tackling. Sophomore Levi Molyneaux has been his top target, corralling 18 catches for 192 yards and 4 scores.

Lone Tree will look to make it a happy homecoming with their fourth straight win over Tri-County. Kickoff is set for 6:30 this evening.
