The 23rd Annual 5K Memorial Walk/Run Fundraiser put on by Hospice of Washington County is Saturday, with registration set to begin at 8:00 am at Sunset Park. This event is an opportunity for family members and loved ones to honor past and present loved ones. Family members are encouraged to submit two favorite family photos of their loved ones, their names, special dates, and a personal message to be displayed.

Tiffany Crawford, an Administrator for Hospice of Washington County, spoke with KCII about what the funds raised from this event will go towards. “So, Hospice of Washington County is a not-for-profit hospice. This means that no matter what the family’s ability to pay is, they will never receive a bill from us. So, fundraisers like this are what we use to help cover expenses for the family and also help us get any supplies we might need.”

Registration on the day of the event is $25 for those 12 and under and $30 for everyone 13 and up. Early Bird registration is $20 for those 12 and under and $25 for everyone 13 and up. Contact information for registration will be provided at the bottom of the article. The race will begin at 9:00 am near the Rocket Slide at Sunset Park in Washington.
