This year’s homecoming for Hillcrest Academy is Friday and Saturday October 14th and 15th. Traditionally on Friday night of homecoming weekend, the alumni athletic events take place which include a volleyball match in the gym made up of local volleyball alumni followed by an alumni soccer match.
This year’s events will be a little different. On Friday night, October 14th, a Steel Wheels concert will take place in Celebration Hall.
Hillcrest Academy Director of Advancement Jeremy Ours shares concert plans, “That’s an event put on by this group. The name of those folks is Bad Angle Event. Their hope I think is to host about  four or so events on our campus in Celebration Hall each year.”
Ours shares that this is the sixth year that the school has had an official homecoming reunion. Additional events happening on Saturday, October 15th include the Joetown Classic, a 5k Run in the morning, and the annual junior class pork supper will occur in the evening. The menu includes pulled pork, baked potato, salad, dinner roll, and pie or an alternative meal of carnitas street tacos and frijoles charros. The meal is available for dine-in or takeout.
