At the September 14th Washington, Community School Board Meeting, Special Education Director and Preschool Principal Adam Miller started the meeting by outlining the new strategic plan for the special education department. The plan focuses on implementing a new Individualized Education Program (IEP) and on Specially Designed Instruction (SDI) based on research and progress monitoring.

After the meeting, Miller spoke with KCII radio and outlaid the key aspects of this new strategic plan. “At the center of that plan is support and relationships between students and staff, and our staff has done such a great job at the beginning of the school year of creating those relationships. Part two is making sure that we follow our IEP to make sure that the kids are constantly making progress and that we are doing the best job of instructing that we possibly can.”
