The Washington Healthy Hometown Walking Audit was held on Monday, September 19th. The audit featured presentations about various community design concepts that relate to walkability, safe routes to schools, bikeability, and traffic safety. After the presentations, participants went on a short walk around Washington to discuss some ideas for possible future development.
Washington Board of Supervisors Chairman Richard Young participated in the walking audit and shared his experience at Tuesday’s board of supervisors meeting and when the results from the audit can be expected. “Yesterday, I was a part of the walking audit with the City of Washington; we went around the city to test its walkability, which was interesting. There will be a report coming out, and once I get it, I will share it with the board, and according to them, it takes around six weeks for that report to be completed.”
Questions about the status of the results for Monday’s walking audit can be directed to the City Administrator’s Office at City Hall.
